Hello:
My favorite subject of the semester is the theoretical seminar Teotihucana iconography, with the Hungarian professor Zoltàn Paulinyi, from the department of theory and history of the arts, this is a very specific topic and a great amount of contents of history, architecture, sculpture , the painting and ceramics of Teotihucana civilization and culture, (this civilization predates the Maya).
I inscribed the subject because it relates it to the Mexican culture and to the Mexican embroidery that I studied last year, but it seems very different to me, because the iconography of Teotihuacán is complex.
The professor tells us about the gods of Teotihuacan the rain god (jaguar-two serpent - bird), god of fire (butterfly-bird) and the goddess of corn, also known as the goddess of fertility, and also the god's wife of rain
The professor shows us presentations, one was the architecture of Teotihuaca, obviously in ruins, of the city where the three most important pyramids are the sun, the moon and the snake enplumada, the latter is the beautiful and better taken care of, this pyramid is covered with serpentine shields and very well preserved and under it a tunnel that represents the underworld where the god of rain lives, the most important god of Teotihuacan.
